The Falcom A3DJP3 combines a 16Bit CPU core, Dual Band GSM engine, 12-channel GPS receiver and car voltage range power supply with an integrated 1200 mAh LiIon backup-battery. It provides 3 external RS232, 1 RS485, 2 audio interfaces as well as 8 digital I/Os (or 6 digital I/O and 2 analogue inputs).

The 256 KB RAM- and 1 MB Flash-memory on board as well as the integrated MMC Flash card reader allow the creation of a huge variety of applications including extensive data logging. An integrated power management co-processor allows different applications under low power conditions.

The DOS-like system software build the basis for quick and comfortable development of own application firmware using high level programming languages (i.e. Paradigm C++ or Visual C).The external access to the complete internal system bus can be used for debugging purposes as well as for your own hardware extensions. The ability to update your own application firmware over the air link reduces time and cost for field testing and after sales support providing very high flexibility in responding to the dynamic range of end user requirements. The integrated internet core allows easy and quick creation of internet enabled embedded system solutions.

Thus the A3D concept brings together three of the most powerful state-of-the art technologies (GSM, GPS, internet) and makes them available for quick and easy integration into a number of applications for the vertical and horizontal market. The integrated Hands-Free Kit together with the external Dial handsets supporting voice and SMS provides a complete audio solution including keypad and display. The standard FALCOM GPS/Alarm firmware will minimize design inputs in the creation of central management software.
